• Computer Corner: Jeanne Bunting reminds those attending Family History Fairs to bring their notes with them to speed up inquiries. She suggests searching for a first name without a surname and reviewing the batch with the same letter as the surname being researched.
• News from the Centres: What's on at Camberley, Farnham, Guildford, Walton-On-Thames and Woking, as well as news from the Computer Group, plus a recap of recent meetings.
• Future Meetings at the Society: Upcoming meetings of West Surrey Family History Society from January through March.
• News from Surrey Heritage: Julian Pooley reports that it is easier than ever to search the catalogues online through the "search for Archives and Books" page of the website. New accessions include the original survey by William BARNES for 65 bridges, documents of the Horsham Monthly Meeting of the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers) and two large albums of illustrations of Surrey churches and chapels.
• Diary of Events around the UK: News regarding museums, family history fairs and associated events that will interest both new and experienced genealogists.
• Mailbox: Help is requested regarding the original entry of a marriage between John HAMPTON and Hannah in Milford on the 19th May 1735. Another inquiry seeks more information about Arthur MARTIN and Alice Maud JENNINGS who are buried in St. Michael’s Church, Camberley. A photo album of several hundred pictures of the FURZE and MARSHALL family, who lived at Lagham (South Godstone), is available to their descendants. Birth information about James LINTOTT who married Elizabeth SNELLING on the 20th October 1606 in Puttenham is requested.
• Bookshelf: New family history research titles include: Woking Buses 1911-1939 by Laurie James explores the activities of the small businesses running buses before the Road Traffic Act of 1930 and up to the outbreak of World War II; Birth, Marriage & Death Records, A Guide for Family Historians by David Annal and Audrey Collins is an introduction to historical documentation; Tracing your Merchant Navy Ancestors, A Guide for Family Historians by Simon Wills is a concise, informative guide to the history of Britain’s merchant service and instructions on how to trace individuals who served; and Tracing Your Servant Ancestors, A Guide for Family Historians by Michelle Higgs, covers the period from the 18th century through to the beginning of the Second World War.

• A Tale of Three Arthurs by John WELLS traces his elusive ATFIELD ancestors.

• Sheila Brown highlights school photographs from the County Secondary School for Girls, Woking, in 1936, which were rescued from a jumble sale in Vancouver, Canada before traveling half way back around the world to Surrey.
